Downloadable files and better previews

Ask for a PDF or an infographic and get a file you can download. File and image previews are easier to use.

New

  • Ask for a PDF, a report, or an infographic, and Nectar gives you a file to download. Before, it sometimes put raw HTML in the chat.
  • File and image previews have Download and Open in new tab buttons.
  • Click the support email at the bottom of the new chat page to copy it.

Improved

  • The Privacy Policy and Terms now explain how ads, product analytics, error reports, and code runs work.

Fixed

  • Large images fit the screen in the image preview, and the toolbar stays in the corner.
  • Click outside an image to close the preview. The preview also has a Close button.

Command palette

Press Cmd+K or Ctrl+K to search your chats, open recent chats, and run quick actions.

New

  • Open the command palette with Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux.
  • Search your chat titles and messages. Partial words match too.
  • See your recent chats as soon as the palette opens.
  • Open Settings or change between light and dark mode from the palette.

Improved

  • The background picker shows only the backgrounds for your current color mode. A new background no longer changes your theme.
  • Dialogs open with a short animation and support dark mode.
  • Search results show formatting such as bold text and code.
  • When the sidebar is collapsed, click any empty area of it to expand it.

Fixed

  • Enter no longer sends a message while a file is still uploading. Before, the file was dropped from the message.
  • Chat titles are easy to read in dark mode.

Forks, backgrounds, and a new composer

Nectar moves to nectar.day. Fork shared chats, set a chat background, and use a cleaner composer.

New

  • Nectar is now at nectar.day.
  • Fork a shared chat. The copy goes into your chats and continues from the last message. The original does not change.
  • Set a chat background in Settings > Appearance. Pick one of ours or upload your own image. Your image stays on your device.
  • Try Nectar before you sign in. Nectar asks you to sign in when you send your first message.

Improved

  • The message box floats over the conversation, and the model picker is inside it.
  • Only the conversation scrolls, and the layout fits the screen on phones.
  • Drafts stay when you sign in, refresh the page, or change chats.
  • Shared chats have a cleaner page that shows the title and who shared it.

Fixed

  • Images in public shared chats now show for people who are not signed in.
  • On phones, the sidebar closes after you open a chat.
  • Account actions in the sidebar now open sign-in when you are signed out.
  • Display math on a single line now renders correctly.

  • Share a chat with a link. Your other chats stay private. Turn off the link to stop sharing.

  • Change only the settings you need on one short Settings page.
